HEPZIBAH SHARMILA
DIRECTOR
Sharmila is a social worker by calling and by profession; with a Master’s Degree in Social Work practicing with evidence-based approaches. She is passionate about designing effective programs to help build lives and communities. With over 20 years of experience, it’s like a second nature to her to design & implement need bases programs and continuously assess programs that they meet the needs of the community.
HEMAMBIKA
PROJECT OFFICER, CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
Hemambika has been with Vathsalya for almost 17 years initially working as a nurse taking care of all the medical needs of all the children and monitoring their growth and development. She currently oversees the Child Development Center. She so willingly at the community level, besides being responsible for care at the center.
MARIANNE VARGHESE
CHILD DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
Marianne M. Varghese is a Social Worker by profession. By designation she is the Child Development Officer at Vathsalya’s Child Development Centre, and as such she has contributed to the Centre by incorporating developmental stages of the child into its philosophy and objectives. Marianne ensures that play, drama, music and dance are integrated into the Informal School Curriculum to make learning non-didactic.
PUSHPA LATHA R
PROJECT OFFICER, EDUCATIONAL SPONSORSHIP
Pushpa coordinates and manages the Education Sponsorship programme which is VCT’s biggest project. She has a Masters in social work and helps organize Training programs, workshops and competitions as well identifying and providing additional counseling to those students who require attention.
WESLEY R
CHILD DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP
Wesley has 8 years of work in Corporates as an Operations Reporting Analyst and Customer Support Executive, and in the social work field as a Program Trainer. In Vathsalya, he serves as the Child Development Officer for the Education Sponsorship students. Wesley ensures that all our sponsored students receive training in essential non-academic topics like Stress Management, Adolescence, Time Management, etc.
SRIMATHI N
PROJECT OFFICER, IGP
Srimathi is an MSW graduate and has a wealth of experience in various fields of social work. She works closely with the clients to assess the needs and abilities as well as monitor their growth. Her main role is to run the Income Generation Program, her background in Microenterprise helps her to gauge the turnover of business and provide sound business counselling to all clients under this program. She engages the parents in regular activities facilitating Family strengthening.
